On 7 May, 1665 a “congress” took place between Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel, Chief of Clan Cameron and the Chief of Clan Mackintosh (along with 800 of their clansmen) at Kilvain.

This 3-day attempt to settle the Cameron-Mackintosh 350+ year long feud was unsuccessful.
