    Described as "14th of Strone", he took over the running of Strone while his elder brother was involved in Jacobite affairs.

    His will of 30 Apr 1772 gives details of his children.

    He was probably the John who obtained a lease of Strone in 1774. Described as Tacksman of Strone 1792 but probably still renting. By 1805 he was living in Montreal.

    A son of John Cameron, Strone was bapt. 20 Jun 1789, Kilmallie
