Angus Cameron was born in ca 1801 in Inverness-shire; died on 31 Dec 1858 in Branxholme, Vic; was buried in Branxholme, Vic.

Notes:

He is not mentioned on death cert. of Ewen or Flora (above), but parents are given as Ewen Cameron and Flora Cameron in his death cert. He may be a natural son of either, or a similar close relative, informally adopted and accepted as part of the family.

The obituary of Kate Cameron, d. 1908, accepts him as a brother (Ref. Hamilton Spectator 10 May 1858), but states he arrived in Australia about 1844. He probably arrived Tas. ca 1833, Vic ca 1835 (DC).

He is not the Angus Cameron listed in the "Maitland" dispersal list as coming with his parents.

His adopted/natural son Duncan Cameron was informant at Angus' death.

Sometime of Violet Creek, nr Branxholme, then grazier of Arrandavong, nr Branxholme at death.

Angus left property worth over 9000 pounds to his wife and then her two sons, with an annuity of 40 pounds for Duncan.

Angus married Christina McGillevray in ca 1856. Christina was born in ca 1813; died on 2 Apr 1881; was buried in Branxholme. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
