- Jean attracted Allan Cameron of Erracht (b. 1750) in about 1775 and was at the centre of his duel with Alexander Cameron of Muirshearlaich. She was known as the Red Haired Widow.
Her brothers are recorded as Lieut. Archibald Campbell at Carie, Rev. James Campbell of Kenmore, Perthshire and Colin Campbell, Collector of Customs. Also a sister Helen married John Cameron of Camghouran, presumed parents of her heir, Ewen Cameron, Writer.
Her Testament of 1803 refers to a Trust document of 1797 naming her nephew Ewen Cameron, Writer, as her heir.
