- Naval officer with H.E.I.C.S., first recorded 1800 on Ceres, by 1810 as captain of Ann, 1818 of General Hewitt. and 1819 London. He was Commander of Earl of Balcarres 1821-1827.
His will of 1839 left his house in Blackheath and contents to his friends Samuel and Elizabeth Penelope Granger, the residue to his executor, his brother Sir Duncan Cameron who was was served heir to him 1848.
In 1844 he was recorded as owning at least £1000 of East India Stock.
Said to be unmarried, but he is probably the Peter Cameron Esq, in the service of the Hon. East India Company, who married 6 Oct 1820, Comely Bank, Edinburgh, Mary Ann Allan, third dau. of Mr William Allan (Ref. Blackwood's Magazine)
