Notes |
- In 1855-6 he was acting as alternate executor for the will of his uncle Dugald McLachlan in place of Donald Cameron of Clunes and others overseas. At that time he was living at Airds, Bald Hill, Donnybrook, nr Melbourne. A court case in October 1857 claimed he had obtained money from McLachlan with undue influence, not proven. A report of that case said John Cameron came to Victoria in 1852 with his father and family and worked as a clerk with the London Chartered Bank in Melbourne, leaving in 1854 to look after his uncle in Melbourne.
He lived at Baillieston, Goulburn River at the time of his death.
