      Donie or Dawnie family stem from Donald Dubh, 2nd son of Alexander Cameron, 8th of Glen Nevis.
      His son Allan Cameron, 1st of Donie, lived there ca 1712, as shown in a Charter of Glen Nevis dated 1712. His son Ewen was knighted by Charles Stuart in 1745.
