Donald Charles Cameron  b. ca 1745. Said to have been named as such by special command of the Prince, who was present at his christening. Tacksman, 3rd of Donie (or Dawnie), par. Kilmonivaig, son of Ewen Cameron 2nd of Dawnie. Donie or Dawnie family stem from Donald Dubh, 2nd son of Alexander Cameron, 8th of Glen Nevis. His son Allan Cameron, 1st of Donie, lived there ca 1712, as shown in a Charter of Glen Nevis dated 1712. His son Ewen was knighted by Charles Stuart in 1745.

From at least 1815, H.P. Lieut, 2nd Garrison Battalion at Gordonstoun, Kilmallie, later 4th Garrison Battalion, Capt. Tenant in Lundavra 1815-36, and then Lianassie, Kintail until his death

Cameron who was initial Secretary of Clan Cameron Association in Melbourne 1853.

2.2  Allan Gordon Cameron  b. ca 1818, d. 23 Aug 1878 Malvern, Vic. Listed in 1920s chart as Allan Cameron, fourth child, "went to Australia". Australian DC gives parents as John Cameron and Janet (sic) Cameron. I believe this to be an error. Late of Demerara (death notice). He arrived with his wife and an infant at Melbourne 24 Oct 1854 from Liverpool (London - sic) per "Marco Polo" as cabin passengers. They were recorded at Demerara 1852. (James Bickford, Autobiography). Farmer in Tasmania 1855, living Sydney Place, Launceston 1856-7. An Allan Cameron in Demerara signed a petition 1841.
