1. | Capt. Peter Cameron was born on 10 Sep 1777; was christened on 24 Sep 1777 in Kilmallie (son of Sir Ewen Cameron, of Fassifern and Louisa Campbell); died on 4 Oct 1843 in Blackheath, Kent. Notes:
Naval officer with H.E.I.C.S., first recorded 1800 on Ceres, by 1810 as captain of Ann, 1818 of General Hewitt. and 1819 London. He was Commander of Earl of Balcarres 1821-1827.
His will of 1839 left his house in Blackheath and contents to his friends Samuel and Elizabeth Penelope Granger, the residue to his executor, his brother Sir Duncan Cameron who was was served heir to him 1848.
In 1844 he was recorded as owning at least £1000 of East India Stock.
Said to be unmarried, but he is probably the Peter Cameron Esq, in the service of the Hon. East India Company, who married 6 Oct 1820, Comely Bank, Edinburgh, Mary Ann Allan, third dau. of Mr William Allan (Ref. Blackwood's Magazine)

2nd son of John Cameron of Lochiel, 18th Chief of Clan Cameron.
About 1721 he went to West Indies and sold (to Ewen Drummond, his cousin) the estate given him by his father, as the start of his business career (Stewart p. 307).
Imprisoned in Edinburgh, and then banished to Alnwick in 1755 for 10 years, returning ca 1768
John married Jean Campbell on 23 Aug 1734 in Kenmore, Perthshire. Jean (daughter of John Campbell, 5th of Achalader, Perthshire and Katherine Cameron) died on ca Apr 1783. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

8. | John Cameron, 18th Chief of Clan Cameron was born in ca 1663 (son of Sir Ewen Cameron, of Lochiel, 17th Chief of Clan Cameron and Isobel Maclean); died in 1747 in Nieuport, Flanders, now Nieuwpoort, Belgium. Notes:
of the '15. He was exiled to France, living in Paris until about 1827, and then in Boulogne. He was in Scotland from about November 1745, leaving with his son and the Prince in September 1746(Ref. John Gibson, Lochiel of the '45)
