He probably migrated in late 1840s. A story that he came per "Tomaliss" to Adelaide in 1839 is incorrect. A Duncan Cameron did migrate with wife Ann per "Tomatin" to Adelaide March 1940, and probably son Alexander.
He was associated with brothers in pastoral ventures

Death cert. states born Glenturrit, Inverness-shire (informant son Alexander).
Glen Turret is at the end of Glen Roy, over the hill from Laggan; Glenpean is at the head of Loch Arkaig, towards Morar; Knoydart is on the west coast, north of Morar.
