  1. 1.  Allan Cameron (son of John Cameron); died in Oct 1749 in Dunkirk.

    Notes:

    9th of Callart.
    Wounded at Culloden, his estate was forfeited to the crown and he was banished to France. A letter from Colin Campbell of Glenure (Forfeited estate papers) dated 20 Nov 1749, states that he "died last month at Dunkirk".

    Family/Spouse: Helen Stewart. Helen died on 30 Sep 1790. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    7th of Callart, succeeded ca 1700. He gave a receipt 16 Dec 1714 as Allan Cameron, son of Ewen Cameron of Callort (Ardgour MSS).

    Descent is from the second son of Allan nan Creach, 12th Chief or Captain of Clan Cameron, passing sideways to a John Cameron of Lundavra on the death of Allan of Callart of the plague ca 1642-50.
