George Gallagher Cameron was born on 25 Aug 1878 in Yartla Lake, Menindie, NSW (son of John Cameron and Ellen Gallagher); died on 3 Mar 1931 in Broken Hill, NSW.

Notes:

He was granted the Homestead Lease of "Shelfield", Menindie, another part of Rochdale, in 1895. The lease was confirmed in 1900, when fencing was completed. He then lived in a hut on the boundary with his brother Charles. Two further blocks were later added to Rochdale. The whole property was apparently mortgaged in 1964 and eventually sold in 1981

George married Sophia Vigar on 30 Nov 1910 in Wilcannia. Sophia was born in 1882 in Polia; died on 19 Jan 1964; was buried in Broken Hill, NSW. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
