8. | Donald Cameron was christened on 25 Oct 1818 in Kilmallie (son of Allan Cameron, of Clunes and Jean Maclachlan, of Aryhoulin); died on 6 Dec 1890 in Moniack Castle, Inverness-shire. Other Events:

Notes:
He migrated to Australia as a cabin passenger on the "William Metcalfe", leaving Cromarty early May 1838, arriving Sydney 1 Sep 1838. With his uncle Capt. Dugald Maclachlan (b. 1801, d. 1 Jan 1855, Melbourne, of Glengower Stn), he overlanded with sheep to settle at Clunes in Victoria, north of Ballarat, where he established a property. He returned to Scotland in 1847 to marry. Gold was found at Clunes in 1851, which did not please the squatters. Cameron sold Clunes in December 1853 and returned to Scotland to retire, apparently a wealthy man
